Texcel lands two telco deals

Two well-known telecommunications firms are now embracing Texcel's content management technology: one to publish and manage product documentation, the other as a reseller serving its parent company.

Philips Business Communications (Hilversum, The Netherlands) will use Texcel's Information Manager to manage product documents concerning its SOPHO networking and communications product portfolio. Applying content management to product documentation will result in an ROI and 20% efficiency increase within 18 months, according to Cees van der Does, Manager of Philips' Usability Training Documentation (UTD) department. Philips also intends to use Texcel's Information Manager as a core component of future knowledge-based systems and Internet/intranet training.

Separately, Ericsson Data will resell Texcel's technology to its parent company Ericsson Corporation, where it will help users create, manage and deliver customer and product information. Texcel's Information manager will help Ericsson Data realize its goal to "empower our business offices and manufacturing sites with the means to better serve their customers," according to Ericsson Data spokesperson Helena Lindstrom
