Companies join to help Revenue Canada process payments

Datacap (White Plains, NY) and others are joining forces to provide image-based payment and forms processing solutions for Revenue Canada. The image-based payment processing system (worth $9.7 million) and forms processing system ($8.6 million) will help Revenue Canada process the millions of remittances and paper-based tax, payroll and customs forms it receives each year. The payment processing system will merge Unisys' payment processing and retrieval software, and other transports, servers, workstations and optical disc storage devices with a new mail processing system from Opex

(Moorestown, NJ). The forms processing system will uses Unisys servers and workstations, Scan-Optics (Manchester, CT) scanners, and Datacap's (White Plains, NY) Paper Keyboard 97 data capture software and Taskmaster workflow software. The systems, scheduled to be fully implemeneted early next year, will allow Revenue Canada to automatically process more than 250,000 remittances a day.
