NCR and SAS join for seminar series

NCR (Dayton, OH), SAS Institute (Cary, NC) and chip maker Intel (Hillsborough, OR) are linking arms to bring data warehouse and data mining expertise to IT executives. The eight-city seminar tour will feature well-known data warehousing and data mining experts Gordon Linoff, Michael Berry, and Bill Inmon. The two-day seminars will include lectures and interactive discussions designed to help senior managers, designers, developers, and data warehouse and data mining professionals figure out how to capitalize on the value locked up in corporate data assets, according to Inmon. The seminars provide "an excellent opportunity for executives and senior managers to cut through the hype and buzzwords," added Jim Davis, SAS' program manager for data warehousing, "and understand the substance and business value of these technologies." The seminars begin next week in Toronto, and wind up in Washington, DC in mid-May.
