Vidar Unveils Upgradable Scanner

Vidar (Herndon, VA) has unveiled the TruScan Titan large-format scanner for CAD engineering and reprographics applications. The upgradable scanner offers grayscale capture, 24-bit RGB color, Advanced Copy Logic (ACL), dual point thresholding and 2D edge sharpening. It's designed to handle maps, color-coded or red-lined engineering drawings, photographs, or large commercial graphics. The Titan comes with Vidar's TruInfo scanner control for archiving and sending documents across the network. The embedded TruInfo software acts as an API, allowing users to scan in documents through an existing application. The TruScan Titan costs in the low-$20,000 range for a base model; users can upgrade to a midrange version (high $20,000) and a professional version (low $30,000).
