Catalyst Provides WMS for UK Distributor

Homebase, a UK-based distributor of "do-it-yourself" products, has implemented a warehouse management system from Catalyst International

(Milwaukee) to streamline its supply chain operations. Homebase will use Catalyst's WMS Release 7.0 system in its new 256,000 square foot Swindon distribution center, which manages 4,000 lines of horticulture and 3,500 lines of hard goods. The system will give Homebase "a real-time, millennium-compliant system that will help us provide an even better service to our customers," said Chris Neath, Homebase's distribution manager. Homebase is the second largest "do-it-yourself" retail outlet in the UK, operating 300 stores nationwide. Future installations will take place at Homebase's Park Farm depot in Wellingborough, UK and later in 1998 at their Brackmills depot in Northants, UK.
