i2, IBM, UEC to Hammer Out SCM for Metals Industry

i2 (Irving, TX), IBM (Armonk, NY) and USX Engineers and Consultants (UEC,Pittsburgh) have joined to provide supply chain management solutions to the metals industry. The alliance will offer consulting, systems integration and project management of supply chain systems for metals companies worldwide. Together, the companies will offer solutions based on i2's software, training, and technology transfer; IBM's marketing coverage, local support and implementation services, and UEC's industry-specific expertise, know-how, and practical experience with past SCM implementations. The alliance will provide "mission-critical supply chain management solutions that are fully integrated, fully interactive, high performance, and capable of operating in a real time environment," said i2 VP Dian Jen. "Working together, IBM, i2 and UEC are taking this burden off the metal industry client by creating offerings that address all aspects of the integrated supply chain," added Dave Condeni, IBM's executive for the global metals industry.
