In addition to closing an additional round of equity funding, Infoscape (San Francisco) has appointed Richard French as its new CEO. French previously served in the senior management ranks at

Oracle (Redwood Shores, CA), as VP of the company's Enterprise Platforms division. His responsibilities included directing product development, marketing and alliances for Oracle's business with Sun, Hewlett Packard, Compaq, Digital Equipment Corporation and Novell. French has also held positions at Bull and Cincom. With the appointment and the new round of financing, "we are well positioned to bring Infoscape to a leadership position in the intranet market space," says Infoscape co-founder Paul King.
