Optika and Siemens Ink Agreement
Under a new agreement, Denmark-based Siemens AG will distribute Optika's (Colorado Springs, CO) FilePower product suite. Siemens will also provide consulting, implementation and support services to its customers. The agreement pertains to the sector within Siemens' ATD division, which specializes in IT for Industrial Plants, engineering, software development, design construction and the setting up of industrial plants. "This partnership is instrumental in Optika's continued expansion into continental Europe, as well as into worldwide marketplaces such as Southeast Asia," said Mark K. Ruport, Optika's chairman, president and CEO. The agreement will enhance Siemens' business opportunities in the international market of optical archiving and document management, and will increase their visibility in the Windows NT market. The two companies are also currently joining forces to form a SAP interface for the FilePower suite.
