Visio Acquires AutoCAD Toolkit Developer
In a move to bolster its AutoCAD offerings, Visio (Seattle) has acquired MarComp (Parkton, MD) for an undisclosed number of Visio common stock. MarComp provides programming toolkits for accessing AutoCAD .dwg and .dxf file formats. Visio previously licensed MarComp's Autodirect toolkit for use with its Visio Technical and IntelliCAD by Visio products. The acquisition will be accounted for as a pooling of interests. MarComp president Matt Richards and VP Paul Richards will assume roles within Visio.
