Oracle Releases Report Publishing Tool

A new reporting tool for the Internet and intranets has been released by Oracle (Redwood Shores, CA). Oracle Reports Version 3.0 offers enterprise-scale report publishing using a Web browser via the Internet or corporate intranet. The system operates on Oracle's Developer /2000 middle tier application server, and is available on multiple development platforms or in a multi-tiered, platform-independent environment. Oracle Reports publishes in standard output formats, including HTML, Cascading Style Sheets,

Adobe (San Jose) PDF, PCL PostScript (on Windows NT and UNIX) and ASCII. The product comes with a Graphics Builder for embedding live graphics into reports and a Translation Builder for translating reports into foreign languages. Other features include a Query Builder for the graphical specification of SQL statements, a WYSIWYG Live Report Previewer that enables in-place editing of reports, and comprehensive help and on-line tutorials. Oracle Reports Version 3.0 is immediately available on Windows 95 and Windows NT, priced at $2,495 per developer in the U.S. and $3,120 per developer globally.
