QRS Unveils Electronic Commerce Solution

QRS (Richmond, CA) has unveiled the Quickstep EC enabling service for trading business documents compliant with EDI standards over the Internet. Quickstep is an electronic forms EDI translation package that provides non-EDI capable manufacturers with EC capability compatible with retailer's existing EDI enterprise systems. The product is being displayed today at the National Retail Foundation

's Annual Convention and Expo in New York City. An EC product that connects EDI-compliant businesses with non-compliant ones has long been sought after by the retail market, according to QRS CEO Lynn Hazlett. It's "a goal many retailers in our industry have been trying to achieve since the beginning days of EDI." "For a number of years our retailer customers have been asking QRS to provide a solution that will allow them to get closer to 100% electronic commerce with their non-EDI capable merchandise suppliers," added QRS VP of Product Management Phil Woodworth. "QRS Quickstep provides retailers with such a solution."
