Kanisa Appoints Executive Management Personnel

Kanisa (Cupertino, CA), previously known as Papyrus Technology, has named CEO Mark Angel, VP of Marketing Bill Seawick and controller Paul Machle as its new executive management team. Angel, a Papyrus co-founder, spearheaded the transformation of Kanisa, which expects $10 million in revenue for its first year of operations. Seawick, previously the senior marketing director for Oracle

's (Redwood Shores, CA) education market, will be in charge of leading Kanisa's strategy, product marketing and development of alliances. Machle will oversee Kanisa's finance and administrative functions as well as build an infrastructure for future growth. He previously served as controller for Sybase (Emeryville, CA) and as an auditor with Ernst & Young (New York). The company's vision is that "at the point of each decision, people will effortlessly obtain the right knowledge, and organizations will capture and leverage corporate knowledge, creating a core asset," according to Angel. "We are confident that our management experience combined with our software technology will enable Kanisa to lead the knowledge application software market."
