Amitech unveils new line of scanner servers

Amitech (Springfield, VA, http://www.amitech.com

) has unveiled a new line of paper to image capture scanner server systems. The FileView ScanServers, designed for high volume environments, are capable of scanning up to 360 images per minute. The servers reduce" to a fraction" the costs associated with capture, according to Amitech president Wayne Sandberg, adding that Amitech has "concentrated on producing a reliable system." The system which runs under Windows 95 and includes batch scanning software, a 21" monitor and a choice of high-speed paper scanners from BancTec (Dallas, TX, http://www.banctec.com), PhotoMatrix (San Diego, Ca, http://www.photomatrix.com) or Xerox (Rochester, NY, http://www.xerox.com). Pricing for the system starts at $27,500.
