The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC)—which fights racial and social injustice through education, advocacy and litigation—will manage litigation in house with the iCONECT-XERA eDiscovery Review Platform. iCONECT is offering XERA Licensing to the SPLC for use on pro bono cases at no cost.

The SPLC’s docket consists of dozens or hundreds of complex cases at any given time. iCONECT-XERA is designed to allow legal teams to maximize productivity through an easy-to-navigate interface, enhanced social collaboration and remote accessibility. With iCONECT-XERA’s intuitive, multibrowser, hosted review platform, SPLC legal professionals can gain an understanding of and control over their matters, according to iCONECT.

Wendy Via, chief development & communications officer at the Southern Poverty Law Center, says, “As a nonprofit legal advocacy organization specializing in public interest litigation, we very much appreciate that we can license iCONECT-XERA at no charge as part of iCONECT’s pro bono initiative. Not only is the cost savings meaningful, but the tool will help us be more efficient and effective in our ongoing efforts to seek justice for the most vulnerable members of our society.”

iCONECT reports that the SPLC chose its solution over other platforms in part because of its advanced analytics, including a predictive review tool that enables it to decrease search time, increase quality and minimize overall litigation costs. The tool provides the SPLC with the flexibility to maximize efficiencies, which in turn allows it to better fulfill its mission.
