A trio of toolkits for the Plexus developer

Three new developer's toolkits from Monarch Imaging Systems (Iselin, NJ,

http://www.monarchis.com) offer Plexus (Dallas, http://www.plx.com) developers access to a wider range of hardware.

The three separate toolkits in Monarch's Express line extend existing Plus functions while maintaining the look of the Plexus environment. A scanner toolkit ($1,995) gives Plexus developers access to virtually any scanner. The toolkit relies on Pixel Translations to drive over 30 different scanners. Monarch's printer toolkit corrects the shortcomings in the Plexus environment. Rather than send images through compression and decompression stages before output, the Express Printer toolkit routes images directly from the server to the printer.

Finally, an Express display toolkit allows Plexus developers to deploy scale-to-gray for the first time. Further, Express Display ($995 per workstation) attains faster display and image manipulation speeds by decompressing images directly to the video controller instead of AIP memory (PC RAM).
