New solutions unveiled at AIIM

Document automation provider Document Sciences (San Diego) previewed its latest innovations in compact disk viewing (CDV) at AIIM '97 in New York, April 15-17. CDV writes documents to compact discs that are formatted for Xerox printers (Metacode, LCDS) or generated by DSC's flagship product, CompuSet, for viewing, archiving and distribution purposes. Data/Ware's (San Diego, http://dwdi.com) enterprise authoring systems (EAS) or server enterprise authoring system (S/EAS) to provide industrial-strength compact disk production capabilities, viewing and low-cost archiving.

Diamond Head (Richardson, TX, http://www.dhs.com) showed its ImageBASIC for FileNet, a complete component development environment for developing customized FileNet workflow and imaging applications. The applications can be integrated with new and existing FileNet installations. A 16-bit VBX version ships next week, and a 32-bit ActiveX Controls version is expected to ship in May.

Lava Systems (Toronto, http://lavasys.com) showcased Lava COLD, an optical disc-based software that works within the document management, imaging and workflow solution Lava 5.0. Lava COLD captures, stores and retrieves information contained in archived documents regardless of source, file format or storage conventions. Data is transferred directly from line-of-business systems to electronic storage and automatically indexed for retrieval.
