Wiser Web search

ISYS Search Software has announced the immediate general availability of ISYS:web 7, the company's enterprise search solution for public Web sites, corporate intranets and portals.

New features in ISYS:web 7 include:

On-the-fly categorization. At query time, ISYS:web 7 automatically displays categories that enable users to drill down and find the right information. ISYS also provides administrators with tools for modifying categories according to their business rules.

ISYS SearchTrends. ISYS:web 7 parses raw search log data into meaningful reports that enable organizations to monitor, measure and analyze search behavior. Users can create custom reports or use the standard reports ISYS supplies, including top searches, peak search hours and trends in the frequency (ascending or descending) of search terms.

Web-based administration. The new product offers 100 percent Web-based administration, providing IT administrators with an easy-to-use interface for configuring and deploying search in a matter of hours. ISYS:web 7 can also be administered remotely.

Metadata searching and handling. Organizations can now inject, weight, display or leverage metadata for categorization purposes.

A Developer's Toolkit. Administrators can deploy the product out of the box or, for organizations requiring greater flexibility, achieve maximum customization via the ISYS:web 7's developer's toolkit, which includes .NET and SOAP interfaces.

Faster indexing speeds, doubled index capacity. Administrators can create an unlimited number of indexes and chain up to 128 indexes, enabling users to search across 8 billion documents with a single search. The ISYS engine also offers a typical indexing speed of 10 GB per hour.

Multi-processor support. For enhanced indexing performance, ISYS:web 7 now offers enterprises the ability to leverage multiple processors to build indexes in tandem.

Unicode support. ISYS:web 7 allows administrators to create multilanguage indexes via Unicode, thus enabling content in various languages to reside in a single index.
