Veritas Provides Data Protection and Governance for Microsoft Office 365 Environments
Veritas Technologies, a provider of multi-cloud data management solutions, has announced Veritas Data Protection and Governance for Microsoft Office 365 solution, a new set of data protection and governance offerings.
The software as a service (SaaS) applications deliver enterprise-grade data management capabilities for analyzing, discovering, and recovering Office 365 data.
According to Veritas, as organizations begin to understand the benefits associated with Office 365 subscriptions, it is also critical they take steps to protect Office 365 data to help ensure it is easily recoverable in the event of a data loss. Organizations should also ensure their Office 365 files are preserved and searchable to comply with strict regulatory requirements.
Veritas Data Protection and Governance for Office 365 is intended to give organizations tools to manage their Office 365 data. These include Veritas SaaS Backup, a new cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery solution designed for comprehensive Office 365 data protection and recovery, and Veritas Information Map and Veritas Enterprise Vault.cloud. Information Map software presents a real-time view of file attributes and usage across the Office 365 ecosystem, while Enterprise Vault.cloud solution helps organizations retain and discover Office 365 data in support of regulatory compliance and legal requirements.
With this comprehensive set of SaaS offerings, the company says, organizations will be able to establish enterprise-grade data management practices with automated protection and governance for their Office 365 environments. In addition, the offerings are scalable and provide holistic coverage across the Office 365 ecosystem, including Microsoft Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, and Yammer.
Separately Veritas also announced an extended partnership with Google Cloud, offering new Veritas data protection and governance solutions for G Suite platform customers that provide additonal ways to visualize, archive, and recover data.
The offerings are comprised of Veritas SaaS Backup, a new hosted cloud-to-cloud backup solution for G Suite data protection and recovery, as well as Veritas Information Map and Veritas Enterprise Vault.cloud, solutions that make it a snap to analyze file metadata within G Suite and execute compliance-driven retention and eDiscovery workflows for G Suite email. Together, these offerings build on Google Cloud’s robust productivity and collaboration tools by providing customers with additional data protection and governance capabilities.
