Using hybrid cloud for content in a modern digital organization
Today, people want to create engagement, consume information and add value to content-centric processes, independent of the content’s format or physical location – especially as the volume of content across today’s enterprises continues to explode.
The modern, cloud-first approach to managing enterprise content goes well beyond the document-centric technologies that still plague many organizations
KMWorld recently held a webinar featuring Mike Mahon president and CEO, Zia Consulting; Tim Asaro, content services specialist, ASG Technologies; and Kevin Bender, account executive, content , management, ASG Technologies, who discussed best practices in combining cloud and on-premises services to better meet customer needs now and in the future.
There are several external drivers to move to the cloud, Mahon explained. Security threats are constantly evolving and compliance risk and regulations are increasing. Legacy systems and prior investments are crippling businesses. And it is estimated there are 20 billion connected devices.
There are 30% more content systems compared to five years ago, Mahon said. Cloud offers scalability, IT cost reduction and renewed focus, agility, and business continuity.
Companies that move swiftly and decisively are likely to be the ones that flourish, according to Mahon.
Asaro and Bender introduced the top 5 Ds of cloud migration and transformation. This includes discovery, diagnostic, design, delivery, and delight.
Asaro and Bender suggested Mobius as a cloud platform on AWS and Azure. The platform provides an open API, auto scaling, Docker support, database services, and cheap storage.
Mobius Federation also offers one unified search across all content systems, can pinpoint where customer records reside, take action on identified records, and provides 40% or more on time savings.
