SharePoint diagnostics

Idera has rolled out SharePoint diagnostic manager 2.6, which the company claims turns SharePoint performance data into actionable knowledge by providing real-time monitoring, performance analysis and automated alerting about the SharePoint environment and its applications.

Idera says Version 2.6 provides information to allow administrators to identify, diagnose and resolve SharePoint availability issues related to server performance, resource usage and poorly performing HTML controls, Web Parts and controls.

Idera highlights the following Version 2.6 capabilities:

  • Administrators can now define how SharePoint diagnostic manager responds to alerts. Rules, such as send an e-mail to a specified address, write an event to the Windows Event Log or generate an SNMP trap, can be set to determine particular actions for specific metrics, farms, servers and pages, as well as define who should receive those alerts.
  • From a single screen, administrators can view graphs showing the performance of a metric over the last few hours, days or week; details on alerts; alerting thresholds; and articles from the Idera SharePoint Performance Knowledge Base.
  • SharePoint performance alerts can be forwarded to enterprise performance monitoring solutions.
