SDL acquires Language Weaver

SDL has acquired Language Weaver, thereby further integrating its automated translation technology into its Global Information Management Platform.

SDL claims integration of secure machine translation technology into the translation supply chain at all levels will allow enterprises and governments to translate significantly larger volumes of content faster and more efficiently to meet the needs of the vast content in today’s ever-increasing online world.

The transaction involves acquisition of more than 85% of Language Weaver equity for a consideration of $42.5 million and was fulfilled using SDL’s existing cash resources.
