More intelligent capture and exchange

Kofax has announced a new version of the TOPCALL Communication Server, which is being rebranded as Kofax Communication Server 8.0, a consolidated communication platform that can route all electronically captured inbound and outbound messages across large distributed environments, Kofax reports.

The company adds that with the ability to handle virtually any communications format (e-mail, fax, voicemail, SMS, etc.), the platform enables data to be converted from one format to another and each message to be optionally archived for compliance purposes, reports Kofax. The server can be connected to numerous applications, including those from SAP, Microsoft, Novell, IBM and other ISV systems. Further, says Kofax, Version 8.0 can be easily configured as a secure, high-volume enterprise fax server.

New features in Kofax Communication Server 8.0 include:

  • virtualization support,
  • enhanced e-mail functionality,
  • additional fax-over-IP (FoIP) capabilities, and
  • support for new environments such as Lotus Notes 8, SAP NetWeaver 7.0 and Windows Vista.
