Knowledge graph technology-based data governance delivers enhanced user experience

TopQuadrant, a provider of data governance solutions using knowledge graph technologies, has announced the latest release of its flagship product, TopBraid Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) 6.3. The new release delivers enhanced data governance capabilities and a new user experience for editing and viewing knowledge graphs.

"As the popularity of knowledge graphs grows, TopBraid EDG continues to provide a premier experience and capabilities delivering the many benefits that knowledge graph technology brings to information management solutions," said Irene Polikoff, CEO and co-founder of TopQuadrant.

TopBraid EDG is an enterprise data governance solution that uses knowledge graph technology based on W3C standard RDF graphs to enable integrated data governance across diverse types of data assets and governance needs.

Key new and enhanced capabilities introduced in 6.3 include an improved user interface for asset curation featuring: right click menus, user-configurable page layouts and panels, drag and drop within and across panels, robust batch editing wizards, and sharable asset lists.

Ontology development capabilities include user-friendly panels and wizards for defining models and rules, and the release also features augmented data governance through enhanced automation capabilities, including suggestion of taxonomy terms from documents, auto-creation of ontology models from data, and enhancements to auto-ingestion and the profiling of data sources.

Users can now annotate facts with additional statements in order to, for example, capture provenance of a business term definition or an effective date for any value, and there is enhanced integration with a broad range of enterprise single sign-on environments.

Extended API Access for System Integration offers GraphQL access to ontologies for read and write, GraphQL access to teamworks (change history) for read and write, and GraphQL updates (mutations) can now execute SPARQL updates.
