Intelligent search as a service from Coveo

Coveo has introduced Coveo Cloud. Scheduled for a September release, says the company, Coveo Cloud is the first enterprise search platform capable of securely unifying content from on-premise and cloud systems via a single, cloud-based index and presenting people with proactive, contextually relevant content where they work and on any device.

The company says Coveo Cloud will accelerate user adoption and reduce time-to-value by leveraging cloud computing environments to make it easier to index new data sources from across the IT ecosystem, deploy the search experience to any interface and device and easily tune ranking and relevance. It will serve as the foundation for Coveo’s next-generation intelligent search applications, enabling Coveo to rapidly build and deploy search applications into enterprise systems.

“By delivering search as a service,” says Diane Berry, Coveo senior vice president of market strategy, “organizations will be able to simplify the deployment and expansion of search throughout the enterprise by making it easier to index a wide range of on-premise and cloud-based data sources and systems, deploy the search experience to any interface and/or device so it’s embedded within the flow of work via any interface and/or device and make it easier to tune search relevance via cloud-based usage analytics.” Coveo Cloud will combine a series of capabilities to enable organizations to proactively deliver contextually relevant information to their customers, support agents and employees at the "moment of need:"

  • Coveo Cloud Analytics provides visibility into knowledge and system usage and performance, enabling organizations to uncover knowledge and content gaps, discover which knowledge is most valuable and analytics to tune search relevance;
  • the Coveo Relevance Engine allows administrators to easily tune ranking and search results based on departments, workgroups and the context of the user;
  • a new JavaScript UI editor enables the creation of interfaces to enable organizations to integrate enterprise search and knowledge access into any application and device; and
  • the Coveo enterprise security framework provides advanced encryption and information security protocols to allow organizations to index both on-premise and cloud-based data repositories securely via a cloud-based index. Coveo for Salesforce, which will be the first Coveo search application hosted on the Coveo Cloud platform, is already being used throughout the marketplace to securely index information from across the IT ecosystem and bring it into the cloud to proactively provide customers and support agents with contextually relevant information and expertise, explains Coveo.
