Information lifecycle management from Infobelt

Infobelt has released Orion 2.0, which allows organizations to create compressed, encrypted artifacts from both structured and unstructured data. The company says that unlike other archiving and information lifecycle management (ILM) solutions, Orion 2.0 is vendor-neutral and delivers a complete framework providing an interface with any type of data source or data destination.

Infobelt claims that Orion’s compressed, encrypted artifacts reduce risk through improved governance of metadata such as retention schedules and chain of custody. It adds that with Orion 2.0’s “immutable managed archive repository” for digital records near the end of their lifecycle, customers can more quickly search and retrieve information online, instead of through more costly physical alternatives, such as tape. Orion’s data storage process also enables automatic disaster recovery, reports Infobelt.

Infobelt says Orion 2.0 is available as a software-only solution or as a preconfigured hardware/software bundle. It can be deployed both on-premise and the cloud, the company reports.
