Google Announces New Enterprise Search Tool

Google has announced a new enterprise search tool called Google Springboard to address the rapid growth of information that makes it difficult and time-consuming for knowledge workers to search for and gather information.

The new product was announced in a Google for Work Blogspot post written by Prabhakar Raghavan, vice president of engineering, Google Apps.

As a provider of enterprise search for nearly 15 years, Raghavan said Google has partnered with some of the largest companies in the world and continues to invest in applying technologies such as machine intelligence to power its web search engine, and support the enterprise.

According to Raghavan, Google Springboard searches quickly across all information in Google Apps, including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Drive, and Contacts, and also assists users throughout their workday by proactively providing actionable information and recommendations.

Google Springboard has been previewed with a small set of customers and is being extended to additional customers through the Google Springboard Early Adopter Program.
