Epson Introduces Two Portable Duplex Document Scanners for Businesses On-the-Go

Epson America, a provider of digital imaging solutions, has introduced the WorkForce ES-200 and WorkForce ES-300W. The portable duplex document scanners weigh just under three pounds and provide speeds up to 25 ppm/50 ipm and include a 20-page auto document feeder (ADF) for batch scanning.

Both scanners can be powered through AC or USB 3.0 power, helping users stay organized at the office or on the road. In addition, the ES-300W can be powered by battery and offers wireless capabilities for scanning to smartphones, tablets, computers, or online storage accounts. 

The WorkForce ES-200 and ES-300W portable scanners are intended for business professionals that are always on the road, and need to quickly scan and share a document or business card with the office, said Heather Johnston, product manager, Scanners, Epson America. These scanners allow users to scan a variety of two-sided documents in large quantities, and, most importantly, the portable size allows users to stay organized no matter where they are, she noted.

The ES-200 and ES-300W include TWAIN drivers for integration with document management software, enabling businesses to save time and money by directly scanning files into their existing workflow. Both models also feature Epson Image Processing technology for text and image adjustments such as auto crop, blank page and background removal. In addition, both scanners are equipped with a software package including Epson Document Capture, ABBYY FineReader and NewSoft Presto! BizCard. The OCR software can be used to either create searchable PDFs or editable files with Word and Excel.
