Xythos has announced a significant upgrade to its secure on-demand document management service.

XoD Version 1.6, which was developed for organizations that don't want to own or manage DM software, now includes more Web 2.0 features, as well as additional collaborative capabilities, such as the ability to create wikis and RSS feeds within XoD folders. The service also introduces new customizability for the user interface and new, Ajax-based menu options that expand the service's desktop-like behavior. Further, says Xythos, the service's ability to provide desktop access to Web services and offline synchronization of data has benefited both its corporate and small business users.
