CloudNine Automates E-Discovery Preservation and Collection

CloudNine, a provider of solutions for simplifying and automating data and legal discovery for litigation, investigations, and audits, has released Targeted Preservation and Collection from CloudNine, a new data discovery feature of the CloudNine eDiscovery Platform. The cloud-based capability has been added to simplify and automate data preservation and collection for corporate legal and IT professionals.

With the accelerating volume, variety, and velocity of electronically stored information, legal and IT professionals need tools that can help streamline the complex e-discovery phases of data preservation and collection, said Bill David, CTO of CloudNine. Targeted Preservation and Collection from CloudNine helps users detect, identify, locate, and collect ESI and have it automatically ingested and processed within a cloud-based, full-featured e-discovery platform to speed up what was a laborious workflow typically done with multiple tools requiring multiple levels of human interaction.

Available as part of the CloudNine eDiscovery Platform, the automated preservation and collection capability is accomplished through an eight-step, wizard-driven selection process that includes a secure login to the CloudNine eDiscovery Platform,  the selection of the files and folders to be collected (scanning of local drives or specific folders), and the selection of a processing option (host with CloudNine, host with Relativity, build early data analysis report, or automatically create a load file for a third-party e-discovery platform). Next selections include the project for the collected data to be added to (creation of a new project or loading into an existing project), the timezone for the collection, and the naming of the collection (custodian, location, etc.). The steps conclude with the secure upload of the collection (compression and uploading), and the upload confirmation for the completion of processing for analytics and review

Upon completion of the preservation and collection process, users are ready to begin using the analytics and review capabilities as determined by their processing option selection (CloudNine, Relativity, or Load File for export to additional platforms).
