CAST Highlight introduces CO2 Emissions Estimator, forwarding green proprietary initiatives

CAST, the software intelligence leader, is announcing that its latest version of CAST Highlight will feature a new CO2 Emission Estimator capability which will empower organizations to address their green deficiencies. Now available in beta, CAST’s CO2 Emission Estimator enables enterprises to estimate their CO2 emissions and energy consumption and take the necessary action to reduce their footprint.

CAST’s latest green capability conducts a series of calculations that leverage automated insights regarding software condition and user-configurable parameters—which include number of servers or virtual machines, those machines’ utilization, energy demand, and more. Once estimations are complete, CAST Highlight offers guided remediation for addressing software green deficiencies.

The CO2 Emission Estimator builds on CAST’s Highlight’s Green Software Insights—a feature that analyzes proprietary application code for green impact—forwarding sustainability initiatives for a wide range of industries.

“The CO2 Emission Estimator in CAST Highlight represents our ongoing commitment to help organizations utilize software intelligence to improve the green impact of their applications,” said Greg Rivera, VP, CAST Highlight. “This capability further empowers organizations to reduce their environmental impact while simultaneously reducing operational costs.”

This version of CAST Highlight also offers new cloud optimization recommendation (Cloud Migration Wave Advisor) and code analysis (Code Reader) features.
