Accusoft launches new viewer for SharePoint

Accusoft has unveiled a new version of its HTML5 document viewer that integrates into the SharePoint 2013 environment. Accusoft says the new offering can display hundreds of different file types straight from SharePoint 2013 lists, including PDFs, Microsoft Office files, CAD drawings and many other formats.

The new release features viewer-based collaboration tools, including annotation and redaction, and digital rights management (DRM) controls. Viewing, annotating, redacting and DRM protection of current and previous versions of documents are enabled through support for SharePoint’s document versioning features.

In other Accusoft news, the company has released Prizm Content Connect V. 8.3, the latest iteration of its browser-based document viewer. The company highlights V. 8.3’s mobile viewer, which is said to deliver a high-quality viewing experience on smartphones and tablets.

The HTML5 document viewer in the new release now features optional encryption of document text and images for greater privacy and data security. A new annotation type, Highlight, has been added to Prizm Content Connect’s annotation, redaction and search tools.
