ABBYY adds to its mobile portfolio

ABBYY has rolled out FineScanner for iOS, which is said to deliver high-resolution results for a variety of printed and handwritten sources.

ABBYY reports FineScanner 2.0 allows users to obtain sharp, high-contrast scans in color and grayscale versions, as well as to zoom in any area of the screen for better viewing. With automatic cropping, iOS customers can now quickly crop the image to the needed part by cutting off the unwanted background, such as a table or other surfaces.

The latest version comes with a new, intuitive interface, says the company, offering easy navigation and management of multi-page documents. A new “best-shot” feature chooses the best snapshot out of the three taken in a row to be processed automatically.

FineScanner for iOS 2.0 is available from the Apple App Store.
