Unlocking knowledge and streamlining product creation

Robert Bosch GmbH and IBM are collaborating on a data-driven engineering platform to develop intelligent, interconnected automotive products more efficiently. The platform can quickly scale to thousands of partners, clients, engineers and technicians, according to IBM.

Bosch recognized the need for standards-based integration between engineering teams and organizations in the supply chain. At the same time, a new generation of software engineers is demanding more transparent communication and collaboration across the industry. The IBM platform is said to unlock core engineering processes across teams and development partners, and to allow Bosch to establish a strategic, transparent reuse approach.

Dirk Hoheisel, board member at Robert Bosch, says, “Our aim is greater agility, accelerating product innovation and delivery. By implementing a software and systems design platform founded on integration and reuse, we’re able to improve our integration and increase development quality--setting higher safety and quality standards not only for our company, but for the industry as a whole.”
