Canadian law firm makes the switch to a native cloud DMS

The Canadian-based law firm McLennan Ross has chosen a new document management system (DMS) to replace its on-premises one. The firm has selected NetDocuments’ Native Cloud Document & Email Management Platform and is deploying the solution to leverage its ‘geo-aware’ storage platform, Microsoft Azure integration and NetDocuments EM for advanced e-mail management.

Chuck Martel, information systems manager at McLennan Ross, says that the decision to switch the DMS was driven in large part by the innovation and security initiatives NetDocuments brings to the legal DMS market. “NetDocuments’ flexible storage options with ndFlexStore will allow our firm to leverage the global cloud-based platform while separating the data storage location—solving the longstanding issue of data sovereignty through delivering a single instance of software with intelligent ‘geo-aware’ document storage,” Martel explains.

He adds, “This level of sophistication coupled with security, predictive email filing with NetDocuments EM, and a cloud-first approach to software development and integration is simply not found with other legal DMS providers today.”
