ITI to launch new enterprise search portal

Information Today, Inc. (ITI) has announced the launch of a new portal covering enterprise search and related technologies. The site, enterprisesearchcenter.com, is to be launched in beta version May 22, coinciding with the first day of the Enterprise Search Summit  conference. According to Dick Kaser, VP of content for Information Today, Inc., "Enterprise search and the technologies that surround it have emerged as a hot button topic for IT managers, content managers, knowledge management professionals and business executives at companies across the globe. Our conference on enterprise search has grown dramatically since its inception two years ago, and a year-round professional resource dedicated to the subject matter is long overdue."

The Enterprise Search Center site is designed to be a one-stop shop for all things enterprise search. By collecting the best resources from ITI's rich content collection and the open Web, delivering new subject-focused content and providing a platform for site users to interact with the technology itself and each other, the Enterprise Search Center will provide a unique environment for those charged with identifying search solutions for their enterprise. The site's highly selective coverage will also include the related subjects of classification and taxonomies, search analytics, tagging and metadata, and content management.

While the beta version will provide a good working picture of the Web site, much of the unique functionality and features planned will be phased in over the next few months. Also planned for a later date, January 2007, is an annual print publication titled, Enterprise Search Sourcebook.

Information Today, Inc. is the leading publisher and conference organizer in the information and library technology industries.
