WCM, meet records management

Designed to create, analyze, manage, deliver and archive Web content in a compliant, automated and auditable environment, Documentum's Web Compliance solution combines Web content and records management components of the Documentum ECM platform with online brand and risk software from Watchfire.

Watchfire helps protect an organization's online brand and helps enable privacy and regulatory and accessibility compliance by automating the manual process of identifying Web site issues. The new offering leverages Documentum's WCM expertise and Watchfire's solutions. This combination of technologies enables business and compliance executives in regulated environments to manage Web compliance requirements by providing a solution to establish controls for creating and delivering content, analysis and reporting as well as capturing and maintaining proof of operations for Web sites, portals and online operations.

Built on the Documentum ECM platform, which provides a single, unified platform to address a broad spectrum of compliance requirements, Web Compliance is said to help reduce the risks and costs of complying with the many U.S. and international Web compliance bodies, regulations and standards, such as Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act, the Investment Management Regulatory Organization (IMRO), Section 208 of the E-Government Act of 2002, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the U.K Financial Services Authority (FSA). The Documentum Web Compliance solution also enables customers to achieve Web site and portal compliance and enhance the quality of Web content and brand management efforts.

The Web Compliance solution includes key components of the Documentum ECM platform and products from Watchfire:

Documentum WCM—The Web components of the Documentum ECM platform enable organizations to comprehensively manage life cycles of Web content, create controls for approvals, stage/release content and manage links, populate a common repository for compliant content feeds, access complete audit trails for reporting and attestation and manage online and offline forms for consistency and parity.

Records management—Documentum's RM technology is integrated in the Web Compliance solution, enabling organizations to capture and archive Web content as records, manage content retention periods and storage costs so that information can be automatically routed to the most cost-effective storage solution.

Analysis and reporting—The extended partnership with Watchfire enables the integration of Watchfire WebXM 3.0 with the Web Compliance solution to provide actionable solutions for online risk and compliance analysis.
