Cozying up to content

Inktomi has announced integration between its Enterprise Search software and Microsoft Content Management Server. The move enables Enterprise Search to index and retrieve Web content managed by the server.

The companies say the integration more closely aligns the content development and retrieval process and allows Inktomi to instantly crawl and index content and associated metadata published and managed by the server.

Microsoft reports it offers customers and systems integrators an evaluation copy of Inktomi Enterprise Search as part of its Internet business solution kit, which includes Microsoft Content Management Server. Inktomi consulting services are also available to optimize.

In other Inktomi news, the company has completed its acquisition of Quiver, which offers information classification, ranking and retrieval through Quiver Knowledge Suite (QKS). Quiver describes QKS Classifier as an end-to-end categorization and taxonomy application said to accurately and efficiently organize, manage and distribute information. QKS Topic Advisor, the newest product in the Quiver Knowledge Suite, automatically generates taxonomy topics for human review speeding initial implementation and enhancing the management and growth of existing directories.
