Adobe Posts Gains in Q4 '97 Revenue, Earnings

Adobe (San Jose, Nasdaq: ADBE

) posts Q4 '97 financial results. Revenue of $227.1 million compares with Q4 '96 revenue of $207.7 million. Net income of $46.8 million, compared with a normalized Q4 '96 net income of $35.9 million. Profit margin for the year increased 1% from YE '96. Fourty-four percent of Adobe's application products revenue came from the sales of Macintosh-based products; Windows-based product revenue grew 49% from Q4 '96. "Given economic conditions in Japan, our financial results for the quarter were quite solid," said chairman and CEO John Warnock. During the quarter Adobe signed a cross-licensing agreement with Infodata (Fairfax, VA), and realized total sales of 5 million units for its PhotoDeluxe photo-editing software.
