Private-cloud file sync and share from Code42

Code42 has released the fourth generation of its endpoint data protection platform and a new version of its SharePlan enterprise file sync and share (EFSS) software. The company claims the new platform and expanded EFSS capabilities support data security and compliance requirements not met by consumer-grade sync/share and consumer cloud storage services.

Through the Code42 platform, SharePlan offers a private cloud deployment option for enterprises requiring on-premises storage of data and encryption keys. SharePlan supports data security/privacy and compliance requirements—such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) or the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)—and utilizes PIN-protected links to ensure shared files remain private. Additionally, enhanced, out-of-the-box reporting and an open API empower IT and legal teams to easily monitor user access, link sharing, file locations and shared files.

Code42 says SharePlan’s interface provides easy access to files and permits users to revert to older or deleted versions of synced files when necessary. Further, SharePlan gives users a consistent, reliable experience when accessing their data from any device or operating system—including Mac, Windows, iOS and Android.
