Mobile search gets personal

FAST has introduced significant new functionality to its FAST Active Mobile product suite.

By learning the interests of mobile subscribers, says the company, Active Mobile with Recommendations helps media companies and carriers deliver a personalized search interface on every cell phone. The software creates relationships between like products, user behaviors or community opinions and then delivers real-time, dynamic recommendations directly over the handheld device. As a result, FAST Active Mobile with Recommendations includes not just the familiar "related-item" recommendations, but also personal and social recommendations providing multiple paths to content discovery.
