Mediasurface introduces WCMs 6.0

Mediasurface has unveiled Immediacy WCMs 6.0, which has been built using the latest .Net 2/3 technology and designed for both scalability and flexibility, says the company. Immediacy was acquired by Mediasurface in July 2007.

Immediacy WCMs 6.0 includes Microsoft SharePoint Services (MOSS 2007) integration, plus enhanced search optimization and taxonomy features that facilitate compliance, personalization and relevant search results. Further enhancements include social networking capabilities, including RSS, OpenSearch, Robot.txt, PDF output and blog capabilities.

Mediasurface reports that key benefits of Immediacy WCMs 6.0 include:

SharePoint connector--designed to allow non-technical users to publish accessibility compliant content directly from SharePoint (information can also be captured from any number of Web sites and published directly back into SharePoint without the need for a direct integration).

Taxonomy and categorization manager--employs sophisticated algorithms to extract keywords, key phrases and a summarized description from any Web page or document, then automatically categorize it against a taxonomy or folksonomy.

Search engine optimization--automatic generation of the XHTML-validated code that search engines such as Google prefer.

Extended Web 2.0 functionality easy to create "my page" and profiles that help to deliver the content, context and connections on which social interaction can be enhanced.
