Lexmark and Intelligent ID Enhance Document Security

Lexmark International, a provider of imaging solutions, is partnering with Intelligent ID, a provider of insider risk management and user behavioral analysis solutions, to jointly develop document and endpoint security offerings.

In this age of digital transformation, it is important to not only secure data protocols against external forces, but also enable customers to strengthen their monitoring coverage within their companies, said Allen Waugerman, senior vice president and chief technology officer, Lexmark.

This partnership will extend the monitoring of printing, copying, faxing and scanning documents in real time to include all users and devices within the organization, providing a solution that solves insider threat potentials, whether accidental or purposeful, added Jim Mazotas, founder and chief technology officer, Intelligent ID.

The solutions are expected to support security efforts that focus on detecting malicious and non-malicious breaches that may occur internally when sensitive digital information is duplicated or transferred to hard copy through a printer or multifunction-imaging device.

The partnership is also aimed at providing comprehensive data risk monitoring via the company’s network, the user’s endpoint, or the Lexmark device itself, with data collected in real time or over a period of time.
