Free wikis for five

Traction Software has announced a free, five-user, five-project download of TeamPage.

TeamPage's Java server software can be downloaded at the Traction Web site and installed on Windows, SPARC and Intel-based Solaris, Linux and MAC OS X computers. The company says there are no other dependencies, hence, no need to install and configure other Web servers, scripting languages or databases. TeamPage5 customers who wish to develop TeamPage extensions can use Traction's Skin Definition Language (SDL) and Java software development kit to develop plug-ins for their own use, to share or to sell.

The company reports that TeamPage5 provides the full functionality of the TeamPage Server but is limited to five login accounts and five projects (blog/wiki spaces). The license can be used for publicly facing or internal Web sites. Each project can be configured to allow anyone to read, comment or subscribe to RSS feeds. TeamPage5 is free for commercial or non-commercial use. TeamPage5 customers may download software and access online support through Traction Software's hosted Forum project and knowledgebase (registration required), or they may purchase a $1,000 support contract.
