Duda acquires Snipcart to grow its ecommerce solutions

Duda, a leading professional web building platform for digital agencies and SaaS companies, is acquiring Snipcart, an ecommerce solution that lets businesses add a shopping cart to any website.

The acquisition comes after a successful round of $50 million in Series D Funding, bringing its total funding to $100 million thus far.

With the addition of Snipcart, Duda’s customer base will benefit from a highly flexible ecommerce solution that can make any data or inventory they have shoppable while offering the tools needed to easily sell either physical or digital products, add shopping carts, accept one-time payments, or on-going subscriptions, and all under a seamless and beautifully designed online buying experience, according to the vendor.

Snipcart’s dynamic team of experienced developers, marketers, and managers has built a state-of-the-art ecommerce platform used by thousands of customers worldwide.

Their focus on flexibility and modern ecommerce store design is very much aligned with Duda’s product vision of providing its customers with beautiful and modular ecommerce solutions.

Duda plans to use its acquisition of Snipcart to double down on its ecommerce capabilities in order to provide both superior technology offerings and to welcome an experienced team into its ranks.

Duda allows web professionals to rapidly build websites at scale by utilizing tools for automating site building, easier collaboration with clients, advanced customer service, and capabilities to achieve pixel-perfect designs without a need to code.

Duda will continue to offer its existing ecommerce solution, alongside Snipcart. The existing ecommerce solution has a strong and loyal following, used by many of Duda’s customers to add website buying experiences and will stay in place for customers that prefer to keep using it. In addition, Duda will continue to support it and expand on its capabilities.

The acquisition will also be beneficial to existing Snipcart customers. Duda plans to invest heavily in growing the team and adding more capabilities and features to the core Snipcart platform. Snipcart will continue to offer its product independently to customers.
