Aptean gets greener with Verdiem acquisition

Aptean has inked a deal to acquire Verdiem, a provider of energy management software for IT devices. Verdiem says its technology has helped more than 750 organizations reduce their carbon footprint by increasing energy efficiency for more than 2.5 million devices. Verdiem further says its proactive power management for PCs, Macs, network and print devices can reduce energy consumption by up to 60 percent and has helped save customers more than $250 million.

Verdiem claims its solutions provide a unified approach for IT device data collection, policy management administration and analytics. The technology offers requirements for scalability, reliability and security, and provides customers with quantitative results for dollars saved, energy consumption reduced and C02 emissions lowered.
