Alfresco for case management, business process

Alfresco has released Workdesk, a new component of its content management platform designed to streamline document-centric business processes, such as claims processing, HR employee on-boarding, mailroom automation, deal management and loan origination.

Workdesk is the first Alfresco offering based on the WeWebU acquisition made earlier this year. Features and capabilities include:

  • business role management—individual users and business roles determine what content, views and actions they see upon logging in;
  • dynamic folders and views—working in conjunction with business role management, this function allows Alfresco to deliver the pertinent content in context at the appropriate point in the business process; and
  • configuration over coding—Workdesk is designed to be configured to specific business processes without extensive coding.

Alfresco Workdesk is built on the Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) standard and is offered as a full-featured browser-based app, a desktop integration or as a native iOS application for mobile devices.
