Before becoming Kofax’s president and CEO in July 2002, Richard Murphy managed the Kofax Image Processing Business Unit and had also been Kofax’s vice president of worldwide sales, a position that he held since 1989. Prior to joining Kofax, Murphy was vice president of North American sales for Emulex Corporation, a maker of storage, communications, graphics and peripheral products. At Emulex, Murphy established the company’s OEM and distributor sales programs. He previously held sales management positions with Hamilton-Avnet Electronics, Kierulff Electronics and Telefile Computer Products.
