Conleth O'Connell is chief technology officer at aVignette Corportion, where he manages the technical direction and is responsible for driving new product technology iniatives. O'Connell joined Vignette in 1996 as one of the company's first engineers. He has more than 18 years of software product develoment and project management experience.

O'Connell has demonstrated Vignette's supports for open standards by participating in standards committees including the World Wide Web Consortium and the Web Services Interoperability Organization. O'Connell holds a master's degree and Ph.D., in Computer and Information Science from Ohip STate University. He was a member of the original XML Working Group that produced SML 1.0
