Atomz and WebSideStory partner

Atomz and WebSideStory have announced an integration that the companies claim combines hosted site search and Web analytics to provide marketers with a holistic view of online behavior – from customer acquisition through purchase.

Through the integration of search and analytics, searching and browsing information is correlated and available in a single browser interface for quick and comprehensive reference. The companies say joint customers will be able to leverage their existing IT investments more easily to gain a deeper understanding of visitor behavior.

The technology integration enable capabilities such as:

  • top keywords report, which provides Web marketers the ability to drill down into each search phrase to see what search results were clicked on (further reports show related searches, as well as searches that led to no results);

  • integration of search term reporting with WebSideStory HBX conversion events—for example, HBX can show that a visitor arrived on the site due to an advertising purchase, and then performed a search with a particular keyword, which then led to a purchase or a signup; and

  • search attributes tied to conversions—for example, an e-commerce director would be able to see which searches resulted in sales in a particular department or category.
