Albert offers search for Domino

Albert has launched AMI Discovery for Lotus Domino, which allows users to search and retrieve relevant information from unstructured content stored in Domino databases.

The company explains that AMI Discovery for Lotus Domino is based on the Albert Meaning Interpreter technology, which is comprised of interrelated components that perform query, content and user analysis to improve information retrieval. AMI works by intuitively inferring the underlying meaning behind users' search requests. It analyzes queries at a conceptual level and creates an expert query, which is then fed into the system to find the relevant information. AMI's three-tiered analytical approach provides the ability to enter queries in ordinary language without Boolean operators or other search syntax.

AMI Discovery permits users to search disparate content in over 50 file formats, external Web sites and third-party search solutions from the Lotus Notes interface. Albert further claims AMI Discovery offloads processing requirements from servers dedicated to supporting Domino installations, improving performance.

The company adds that AMI automatically also learns new word relationships and updates the knowledgebase with that information, replacing the need for manual information management tasks.
